Eddie McGuire is an Australian television presenter and a businessman. He was born on 29 October, 1964 in Broadmeadows, Victoria, Australia. He is best known for his work at Australian Rules football and Channel 9 television network. He is also the current president of collingwood Football Club and Melbourne Stars Twenty20 cricket franchise. Besides he also hosts Channel Nine program millionaires Hot Seat. Eddie has also worked as a sports journalist, game show host and sports broadcaster. He is also a former CEO of Nine networks as well as director at Victorian Major Events Company.

McGuire began his career at the very young age of 14. McGuire’s first job was the statistician at the Australian Rules Football and cricket reporter for The Herald. Later in 1993, he moved to nine networks where he became host of various programs. At Nine networks, he became the host of The Footy Show (AFL) in 1994. He also hosted the Sydney New Year's eve in 2003 and 2004. On June 9, 2007, Mcguire hosted A current affair when its regular host Tracy Grimshaw was on a leave and the viewers of the show increased up to 1.42 million but still its competing program Today tonight still beat ACA with 1.470 viewers. Eddie was also presenter of Triple M radio program during London Olympics in 2012. Additionally, he also co-hosted the opening and closing ceremonies along with Leila McKinnon. He has also worked with Australian Government’s Social Inclusion Board. McGuire has hosted the Hot Breakfast Show with Mick Molloy.

McGuire had to face a racist controversy when a 13-year old collingwood fan racially called "ape" to Sydney Swans player Adam Goodes. But, Eddie was so happy to see the collingwood win that he ended up his happiness crying.

McGuire was also awarded several awards for his work. He was awarded Australian sports Medal (2001) "for service to Australian Football”. He also received an honorary doctorate by RMIT University and this honor recognizes McGuire’s achievements in media, entertainment, and community based activities and sports. His game shows “Who wants to be a millionaire?” also won the Most Popular Game Show Award.

McGuire was nicknamed Eddie Everywhere by his one-time near-ubiquity in channel Nine programming and he was also on Australia’s three commercial TV networks Seven, Nine and Ten.
