Guy Edward Pearce is an English-Australian actor and musician born on October 5, 1967 in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England, UK. He is popular for his roles in Television series Neighbours and movies like The Adventures of priscilla, Queen of Desert, Memento, and Lockout. He was born to parents Anne Cocking and Stuart Pearce. His mother was a schoolteacher specializing in needlework and home economics and his father was an air force test pilot.

Pearce attended the Geelong College as a child. He was also a competitive amateur bodybuilder when he was15 to 22 years old. Pearce used to appear in various theatre acts when he was young. Pearce did his first television appearance by appearing in the Australian TV series Neighbours. In this TV series, Pearce appeared as Mike Young. The series started in 1986 and ended up in 1989. In 1990, he appeared as Paul Dysart in Heaven Tonight. The following year, he appeared in Home and Away as David Croft, in which he appeared in total of 12 episodes. Since 1994 to 1996, he was seen in Snowy River: The McGregor Saga as a Rob Mc Gregor. He also appeared in total of 65 episodes of the series and was also nominated for Logie Award for Most Popular Actor in year 1996. In 1994, he appeared in movie The Adventures of priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He has also appeared in the TV film The Devil Game in 1997. The same year, Pearce was also nominated for Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for his role in L.A. Confidential. The following year, he won NewYork International Independent Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Brand New World aka Woundings.

Later in 2000, Pearce appeared as Leonard Shelby in the movie Memento, for which he won Las Vegas Film Critics Society Award; Best Actor and San Diego Film Critics Society Award for Best Actor as well as was nominated for Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor, Online Film Critics Society Award: Best Actor, Phoenix Film Critics Society Award: Best Actor, Satellite Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Drama and Saturn Award for Best Actor. Likewise, his other award winning movies include The Hurt Locker (2009), The King's Speech (2010) and Animal Kingdom (2010). He also starred as Monty Beragon in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pearce in 2011.
