Jamie Lynn Spears, best known as the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears, is an American actress. After Britney's success skyrocketed in the 90's Jamie Lynn followed in her footsteps, appearing in her concert movie Total Britney Live in 2001, and as a younger version of Britney's character "Lucy" in the 2002 movie crossroads.

In 2005, she came to prominence after being cast in the Nickelodeon family television series, Zoey 101, where she portrayed the titular character, Zoey Brooks. In December of 2007, Spears who was at the age of sixteen at the time announced, she was pregnant with her first child.

She gave birth to daughter Maddie Briann in June of 2008, selling the first baby pictures to OK! Magazine for $1 million dollars. She made a big headline in 2007 when she was pregnant with her first child at the age of 16.

Jamie Lynn Marie Spears was born April 4, 1991, in McComb, Mississippi and grew up in the small town of Kentwood, Louisiana. Her father, Jamie, is a building contractor; mother Lynne, a grade school teacher.

She was born more than nine years after her sister, Britney. In addition to her famous older sister, she also has an older brother, Bryan. She is inch- taller than her sister Britney, her sister Britney has the height of 1.63 m where Jamie's height is 5"4 or 164 m.

While still a baby, Spears moved to New York City with her mother and her older sister to build Britney's music career. When Britney hit big in the late '90's, Jamie Lynn began expressing interest following in her sister's footsteps.

Her first on-screen appearance came in the concert movie Total Britney Live (2001). Jamie Lynn also joined the Nickelodeon comedy-variety show All That, playing a variety of characters for two seasons. In the summer of 2004, she left All That, for her first starring role in the Emmy-nominated Zoey 101. 

All That and most notably starring as the title character of Zoey 101, for which she won the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award for "Best Actress" in 2006. She played Zoey Brooks, one of a group of girls attending a formerly all-boys boarding school in California. Spears also co-wrote and sang the show's theme song.

In December 2007, Spears told OK! Magazine, she was 12 weeks pregnant. She had met her boyfriend Casey Aldridge, son of a Tennessee paper mill worker, at church. At the time of the announcement, Lynn Spears were reportedly writing a book about parenting called Pop Culture Mom: A real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World which was initially scheduled for release on May 11, 2008.

Because Spears was sixteen years old at the time of her pregnancy announcement, the story attracted a flurry of media attention and controversy. Spears gave birth to daughter Maddie Brannon June 19, 2008, in Mississippi. OK! Magazine reportedly paid $1 million dollars for the first baby pictures to publish.

"How Could I want More" was written by Spears along with Nashville songwriter Rivers Rutherford, who has also collaborated with Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and Montgomery Gentry.

Jamie Lynn's experiences with Rivers and other Nashville writers made for a master class in songwriting. She learned about how to bring her stories to life through music and became a part of a community that helped her figure out the kind of artist she wanted to be.

The experiences paid off - Jamie Lynn now has over 100 songs in her catalog. Her first single already has critical acclaim and cultural heat.

It was named a Taste of Country critic's Pick and her journey has been covered by such outlets as E! Entertainment Tonight, Buzzfeed, MTV, CMT and more. Choosing "How could I Want More" as her first single was not an easy decision, but she feels that it is the right one because of the help and support of her team. 

"Keeping it honest is something that will always fall on me. I need to make choices I believe in, so I don't lose that relationship with my fans - they are the ones I want to stay connected through my music," says Spears.

She subsequently began a relationship with Jamie Watson, a business person who owns communications service Advanced Media Partners.

After two years of off and on dating, they announced their engagement in March 2013. Pi Day will always have a special significance to Jamie Lynn Spears because it's the day she got married.

Britney Spears' little sister got hitched to her fiancé James Watson on Friday night at the Audubon Tea Room in New Orleans, and it was a big affair. Jamie Lynn's four-and-a-half-year-old Maddie got to be the flower girl, with Brit's sons Jayden James and Sean Preston played the part of ring bearers.

As for the nuptials, there were 150-200 people there to congratulate the couple, and help them finish their five-tiered wedding cake. On March 14, 2014, she married Watson in New Orleans.

Jamie Lynn Spears will now join Hank Williams Jr., Brad Paisley, Dierks Bently, Thomas Rhett, Leah Turner and much more at the second annual Taste of Country Music Festival.

The festival is the first and only 3-day country music camping festival in the Northeast and will be taking place on June 13-15 at Hunter Mountain.

It has already established itself as a must-see for country music fans because of the incredible lineup, top-notch foods, outdoor recreation, and luxury mountainside accommodations.
