Talented Jemele Hill is an American journalist. She is a columnist of ESPN’s First take and ESPN.com’s Page 2. One ESPN2’s show Number Never Lie she replaced Jalen Rose from June 2013.

She was born on December 21, 1975 as Jemele Juanita Hill in Detroit, Michigan. She belongs to American nationality and is of black ethnicity.

She grew up with her family in Detroit, Michigan with lots of care and love as a daughter to the family. During her childhood she loved watching along with playing baseball. Her favorite team in baseball was The Tigers.

During her childhood she loved writing stories and later she dreamt of being a sportswriter not a storywriter.

As for her education she studied at the Mumford High School after completing her high school as her dream was to become a sportswriter she attended Michigan State University where she graduated with a degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish.

Before she worked as a sportswriter she worked as one who delivers phone books in college and in a snack counter. Later she began her career working in the Raleigh News & Observer as general assignment sports writer in 1997.

After that she worked for Detroit Free press as sports writer from 1999 to 2005 covering Michigan State football and basketball. Later she worked with Orlando Sentinel as a columnist from 2005 to 2006.

Currently she is associated with ESPN a leading sports news channel. She has been working for the channel since November 2006.

She had done coverage of many important events. She has also appeared in the television in the several ESPN’s program like the Sports reporter. SportsCenter, Outside The Lines and ESPN First Take.

On October 22, 2009 she became the second ever women to appear on the show Around the Horn. She has been suspended from her job as her some articles were racist type during the 2008 NBA Playoffs.

She was suspended for a week and later she published an apology letter through ESPN. She was suspended but not fired although there were demands of firing her from others.

She is a hard working journalist although she has been in some controversies. There are no information regarding her salary or net worth but she has collect huge amount through her hard work and dedication towards her profession.

In 1998 Hill has won the North Carolina Press Association award for sports writing. She became the first recipient to receive the Van McKenzie in Sports Media summit in 2007. She was also honored by Michigan State’s College of Communication with The Rising Star Alumni award in the same year.
