An American television personality, Joseph “Joe” Bastianich was born on September 17th, 1968 in Astoria Queens, New York City, New York. Besides media person, he is also involved in different profession like Restaurateur, winemaker, food writer and also has become a judge on the competitive cooking shows ‘MasterChef’, ‘MasterChef Italia’, and ‘MasterChef Junior’.

He was born and raised by his family members especially by her mother Lidia Bastianich and father Felice. His father used to run restaurants and they used to own the resturants run for several years and then used to sell it at profitable return. Joe at the age of 13, his parents sold the two Quees restaurants and launched their flagship restaurant named Felidia which is located on the East Side of Manhattan, near the 59th Street Bridge. Because of his family member’s business, he got chance to get exposed to various environment which sharpen his skills and personality. After receiving his B.A from Boston College, he didn’t take further initiative for further education and immediately after the graduation; he joined on Wall Street as a Bond trader at Merrill Lynch.

Later on he realized that he is not meant for such profession, so he shifted his career route and joined the family’s restaurant business. After his parents got divorced after 31 years of marriage, they decided to share in the partnership to their two children, Joseph and Tanya. Since, than Joe made team with Chef mario batali to open Babbo Ristorante Enoteca that earned three stars from ‘The New York Times’. After its success Joe began to give continuity in the partnership and the twosome established seven more restaurants in different part of the city: Lupa, Esca, Casa Mono, Bar Jamon, Otto, Del Posto and most recently, eataly. eataly is Italian Food market/mail chain which involves variety of restaurants, food and beverage stations, bakery, and retail items and he dedicated in energizing Italian recipes. He became successful entrepreneur in establishing its business in different big cities. Later on, his restaurant ‘Del Posto’ the first Italian restaurant to receive a four-star ranking survey by the New York Times. In the recent context he has owned Brandini Estate in La Morra, Piedmont, Italy. Bastianich has also co-authored several cookbooks which are focused on the wine manufactured in Italy and after its success he was recognized as Outstanding wine and Spirits Professional by the ‘James Beard Foundation’ and ‘Bon Appetit’ magazine. 45 year old Joe was rewarded with the James Beard Foundation’s Out standing’s Restaurateur Award for his outstanding performance in entrepreneurship. Similarly, he is now trying to minimize his diet because of which he weight loss of 60 pounds at very beginning phase.

There is a big controversy in his business that was exposed in the media and the impact was so high that Joe and his business partner mario batali were even sued for skimming tips from his restaurant staff. Lots of money was drawn to settle the case and it was worth to $5 million.
