She also hosted a Pride of Britain Award in 2013.

She also took part in the BT Red Nose Desert Trek, a trek which took place in the Kaisut Desert for Comic Relief in the year 2011. Lorraine was appointed as the first female Rector of the University of Dundee in 2004 and in 2008; she received an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University for her services to charity. She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2012. Additionally, Lorrain was also appointed as the brand fashion ambassador for the JD Williams.
