“I've played such good golf, and it was hard coming up and it wasn't easy in any matches or any shots. It means a lot. I think hopefully it will mean a lot to New Zealand because I'm the next winner of the U.S. Amateur after Danny Lee.”  - Lydia Ko

Confident pro-golfer Lydia Ko is the No. 2 ranked professional women golfer in the world as of April of 2014. Her ethnicity is Korean as she was born on Seoul, South Korea on 24, April, 1997 to a Korean couple and her nationality is New Zealander as she is a citizen of New Zealand. Moreover, New Zealand is her adopted homeland. Anyway, she has equal love for both New Zealand and Korea.

Top ranked women amateur golfer turned professional golfer Lydia’s name gets printed with golden letters in the book of history in the year 2012 for being the youngest human at the age of 14 ever to win a professional golf tour event namely ALPG tours based “Bing Lee/Samsung Women's NSW Open” . Although this record gets broken by Canadian Golfer Brooke Henderson in the same year but consistent Lydia is still the youngest human in the world to secure top two positions in two subsequent professional golfing tour events. She was placed 2nd in the previous year 2011 in the same championship.

Later, in the same year, she astonishes everyone with luminous achievement of winning CN Canadian Women’s Open. It was not just a title but the honor of being the youngest winner of an LPGA Tour event ever.  Plus, she also won the same tournament in the year 2013 with glorifying stats of 265 (−15) for a five-stroke victory over Karine Icher.

Furthermore, 2014 is proving to be one of the most important times of her life and the most remembering as well. She wins her first event as a pro in the United States of America. The event was 2014’s Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic and the month was her birthday month at the same time. The interesting fact is she celebrated the winning of the event and her birthday in the same month. Surely, she is the happiest person of the year 2014.

Nevertheless, she turned a pro in the year 2013. But, instead of announcing the big news via the mainline media, she decides to disclose the news via twitter and YouTube.  The YouTube video features lovely Lydia and her friend Israel Dagg, a popular New Zealand rugby player, enjoying their time in the golf course where Israel is crazily helping her in turning a pro. According to her fans, this move was not a mere publicity stunts as suggested by internet warriors but a way to connect to her fans and have little fun while taking such big decision of her life.

She is now 17 and is in the process of transitioning from her teen years to a young woman. Her personality traits can be best described by the terms such as humorous, smiley face, and patient. Moreover, she is known among golfing communities for her perfect swing that derives from her takeaway, upper body plus lower body rotation and swing place, all of them synchronized with proper timing.

Other wiki on her professional life can be extracted from Wikipedia’s biography on her.

She is on her growing phase and she may grow tall by a good number in upcoming years. Anyway, according to the media, her current height is 5 feet and 8 inches. Moreover, her exact weight cannot be traced via the media but it’s probably equivalent to someone with fit athletic shape body with above mentioned height.

Also, not a single information regarding Lydia’s boyfriend, dating or affair can be found in the media. Listed in Time Magazine's list of "The 100 Most Influential People in The World" Lydia, at the age of 15, applied for two-year campaign funding for her 2016 Olympic preparation to High Performance Sport New Zealand as an amateur in the year 2012. As of now, she is a professional earning huge amount of money. It is more likely that she will refuse the monetary help (if given one) at this stage of career or she may give the money to the charity. Even if monetary help is provided to her, that's fair because she deserves it.

Last but not the least, her journey to the industry was not her life-long dream at the age of five when she first visited Australia with her golf loving aunt. After, she returned to Korea, she had two golf clubs on her hand as a gift by her aunt. It is said kid Lydia would play with the clubs just like a normal kid. As time passed by, her parents plus local people there thought Lydia one day would become a great golfer whenever they used to see Lydia swing her clubs with high dedication even when she was doing everything wrong.
