Michael Ciaran Parker, popularly known as Michael Barrymore, is an English comedian and television presenter of gameshow and light entertainment programs on British television in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. He was born in Bermondsey, London, England on 4 May 1952. He is popular among people for his appearances in Strike It Lucky, My Kind of People, My Kind of Music and Kids Say the Funniest Things. He also starred in the comedy called Bob Martin in 2000. He became more popular after appearing Michael Barrymore on Celebrity Big Brother and other shows including The Friday Night Project, The Bigger Picture with Graham Norton, This Morning, The Sharon Osbourne Show, Celebrity Coach Trip and The Saturday Night Show. He has British nationality and white ethnicity. Barrymore was the son of Margaret Barrymore and George Barrymore. But, his father left him when he was 11 years old.

Parker's career started working as a Redcoat in Butlins holiday camps. After that he worked in the West End theatre shows of London, where he met dancer and lifelong friend Cheryl St Claire in 1974. Cheryl was one of the beautiful and talented women with a sexy body combined with exotic legs. There Barrymore became the regular panelist on Blankety Blank. Barrymore became popular via appearances in Blankety Blank. He started his television career firstly by getting his own sketch show entitled, The Michael Barrymore Show in 1983, which starred a young Nicholas Lyndhurst. After that between 1981 and 1982, he appeared in Russ Abbott's Madhouse as various characters. Barrymore also appeared in a number of Royal Variety Performance shows since 1983. He became the host of an ITV gameshow Strike It Lucky, which was watched by 18 million people. Barrymore also had to be at Rehab for couple of months because of his alcohol and drug addiction. After his return back, he wrote a book about his experiences. Barrymore than did a show Kids Say the Funniest Things, Animals Do the Funniest Things and Barrymore on Broadway. He was voted the UK's favorite TV star several times, and became one of the highest-paid stars on TV for his fabulous work, but his actual net worth is not known. He also won ITV's Most Popular Entertainment Presenter in 2000. . Barrymore became well known through his catchphrase of "Awight!” on making his entrance in Strike It Lucky.  

In March 2001, the body of Stuart Lubbock was found by the side of the Barrymore's swimming pool. After police investigation, the Essex CPS stated "I have decided that there is insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction". Then Barrymore received an apology for being wrongly accused of murder.

Barrymore has a perfect macho body built a perfect height but exact body measurements and weight is not disclosed. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall.

Talking about his personal life, Barrymore had an alcohol addiction. Once Barrymore went to the White Swan gay pub in London's East End and gave an impromptu stage performance to the largely local crowd singing the words: "Start spreading the news – I'm gay today". Within 48 hours, every tabloid newspaper had printed its own version of the evening's events as jokes, including an untrue claim that the star had thrown away his wedding ring, which was the reason for his divorce with the hot Cheryl St. Claire. The couple were married in 1976 and divorced in 1997. Cheryl published the autobiography Catch a Falling Star which contained details of their acrimonious split. The couple had no contact since then.

On April 2005, Cheryl died of lung cancer at age 55. Shortly before her death she asked that details of her condition be kept secret from her former husband. Cheryl also said that he should not be invited to attend her funeral too.
