Peter Mansbridge was born on 6th of July, 1948 (his age is 67 years old) in London, England. His parents were Stanley Harry Mansbridge and Brena Louise Mansbridge. His father earned a D.F.C. for all those work that he had done as Avro Lancaster bomber during the 2nd World War. He was raised in Ontario, Canada along with his two other siblings. They were all enrolled in to Glebe Collegiate Institute but he quit before his graduation. In 1966, he was in the Royal Canadian Navy and completed his high school from Trinity College School in 1967.  After graduating, he started to work at the Churchill Airport located in Manitoba, in 1968. There, he was offered a job to work for a local radio by the manager of CBC. Harlod Brown was the name of the manager and he asked him for the job because he’d heard peter make a flight announcement on the airport. It was then he started to work for CBC and in 1971 moved to Winnipeg in 1972 to be working as a CBC News Reporter.  In the year 1975, he was a reporter for the TV channel the national. He was allocated the task of covering all the political events in Ottawa and also started to work as a substitute for the previous anchor; Knowlton Nash. He has covered stories on federal elections, party leadership agreements, the Meech Lake Unity negotiations, the Charlottetown Solidarity and its poll and more.In 1988, American channel CBS started to demand him to work for them, and they also offered him a promotion in the post. So in the May of 1988, he joined CBS and from the year 1992, started to work as a co-anchor for CBC Prime Time News. During his time with CBC, he covered important news like the 1995 Quebec referendum, floods in Manitoba in 1997, ice storms in Ontario and Quebec in 1998, the six days in September 2000 that marked the death and state funeral of Pierre Trudeau, the 2003 failure all across the Eastern parts of North American continent and the death and state funeral of Jack Layto etc. He has also reported on world events like Gulf War, the War in Kosovo, and the events surrounding 9/11.

Regarding his married life, he has been married three times. He was first married to Parm Dhillon, but they separated in 1975. The couple had two daughters together. Then in 1989, he married his friend and CBC co-worker Wendy Mesley. But they divorced in the year 1992. After that, he was married for the third time to a Canadian actress named Cynthia Dale, on the November of 1998. With his third wife, he had a son who was born in 1999.
