Amy Poehler (birth name Amy Meredith Poehler) was born in born September 16, 1971 (age 42 year ) and Raised in Burlington, Massachusetts  she was born in the Boston to high school teachers Eileen Frances and William Grinstead Poehle. Her father is of German, Irish, Portuguese, and English ancestry, and her mother is of Irish descent. Amy graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in media and communications in 1993 and moved to Chicago. In Chicago, she studied improvisational theatre at Second City.  She is an American actress, comedian, voice artist, producer and writer.
