The divinely talented and outspoken television personality, Connie Chung is a popular news personality in the American journalism. She is well known as an anchor of television news networks like CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC and CBS. She was born as Constance Yu-Hwa Chung on August 20, 1946 in Washington, District of Columbia. She was born as youngest of ten children to her parents.
Chung is a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School situated in Silver Spring, Maryland. After graduation, Chung joined University of Maryland, College Park, at the age of twenty three in the year 1969 in order to receive degree in Journalism. Chung was very talented and pretty since her young days. She every time dreamed of her successful career. Chung began her career in the early 1970s as a correspondent for the CBS Evening News. Later on, Chung moved to CBS, KNXT where she anchored the CBS News briefs.
With great fanfare, Chung returned to NBC in new early program, NBC News at Sunrise. This program was scheduled right before the Today program. After spending some time in NBC, she co-hosted NBC created American Almanac with Roger Mudd. In order to join CBC, Chung left NBC. Chung hosted a program named Saturday Night with Connie Chung in the CBC. She was able to be second woman to co-anchor a major network’s national news broadcast on June 1, 1993. Along with CBS Evening News, Chung hosted Eye to Eye with Connie Chung. After she was fired in the year 1995, she moved to ABC News where she co-hosted Monday edition of 20/20 alongside Charles Gibson. Slowly she began independent interviews which were largely gentle and were punctuated by a rapid-fire barrage of sharp questions. Chung was also chosen as one of the judge for the Miss Universe 2011 contest.
She was also a guest host of the morning program, Good Morning America. After then she started to host her own show on CNN entitled Connie Chung Tonight for which she was paid $2 million per year. Her show was panned by critics even though it was heavily hyped by the network. In January 2006, Chung hosted a show on MNSBC named Weekends with Maury and Connie with Maury Povich. It was her first appearance as a television host. On its first episode, she appeared writhing a top a black piano with white gown and singing a parody to the tune of Thanks for the Memory. She also works as a teacher at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Chung is married to Maury Povich in 2 December, 1984. She is happily married with her husband and children. She has one baby boy and is not intending to get pregnant again. Since she has good relation with her husband, she is unlikely to get divorce.
